Program Policies

What to know before you register

Registration

Registration procedures vary by school. Families will receive registration instructions directly from their school or through Little Lights Theatre before each session begins.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of registration unless otherwise noted. Accepted payment methods will be listed during registration. A child's enrollment is confirmed once payment has been received.

Refund Policy

Tuition is fully refundable up to 7 days before the first class, less any payment processing fees.

Once the program begins, tuition is non-refundable, as each child's enrollment reserves a limited space in the class.

If your child needs to withdraw due to illness, injury, or relocation before the program begins, please contact us — refunds or credits may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If Little Lights Theatre cancels a program before it begins, families will receive a full refund.

Closures & Cancellations

Classes follow the hosting school's schedule. If the school closes due to weather or another emergency, Little Lights Theatre classes will also be canceled.

In other instances of class cancellations, makeup classes will be scheduled with no extra charge to families. If a makeup class cannot be rescheduled, Little Lights Theatre will communicate the available options to families.

Minimum Enrollment

Programs require a minimum number of enrolled students to run. If minimum enrollment is not met, families will be notified prior to the start of the session and will receive a full refund if the program is cancelled.

Behavior & Participation

Little Lights Theatre is committed to providing a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for every child. Students are expected to treat teachers, classmates, and materials with kindness and respect. If a student's behavior repeatedly disrupts the learning environment, Little Lights Theatre will work in partnership with the family and the host school to determine the best path forward.

Health & Safety

Keeping every classroom safe

Attendance

Because each class builds upon previous lessons, we encourage students to attend consistently. Unfortunately, makeup classes are not available for missed sessions.

Lice Prevention

To help maintain a clean and healthy learning environment, students will not share hats or headpieces during classes or performances. If hats or costume accessories are used, each student will be assigned their own labeled item for the duration of the program.

Any reusable hats or costume pieces that have been worn by a student will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before being used again.

Little Lights Theatre also follows the health and safety policies of each host school.

FAQs

For Parents

Does my child need previous theatre experience?

Not at all! Our classes are designed for beginners and experienced performers alike. Little Lights Theatre instructors are trained to meet students where they are, no matter their experience level.

What if my child is shy?

Many children begin quietly and gradually gain confidence. Participation is encouraged but never forced, and every child is celebrated at their own pace.

What will my child actually do in class?

Each class includes community-building activities, imaginative research-based theatre games, storytelling, creative movement, and rehearsal for a final performance. See our Programs page for more.

What skills will my child develop?

Students practice communication, creativity, listening, teamwork, problem-solving, emotional expression, empathy, and confidence — all while having fun!

What should my child wear?

Comfortable clothes they can move in easily. Any special costumes or props will be provided and put on over the clothes your child is already wearing.

Will my child memorize lines?

For our youngest performers, we focus on participation, storytelling, and confidence rather than memorization. Any speaking parts are developmentally appropriate and practiced in class, with instructors on stage to help feed lines where needed.

Can parents watch class?

To help children stay focused, regular classes are for students only. Families are invited to attend the final performance.

What happens if my child misses a class?

No worries! Each lesson builds on previous weeks, but children can easily jump back in when they return.

What is your refund policy?

Tuition is refundable up to 7 days before the first class, minus any processing fees. Once the program begins, refunds are not available, as your child's enrollment reserves a space that typically cannot be filled after the session starts. If your child needs to withdraw due to illness, injury, or relocation before the program begins, please contact us — refunds or credits may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
